能夠活到81歲安然離世那肯定是一種福報。唱紅"Lucille", "Lady", "The Gambler", "Islands in the Stream" 等白金單曲的美國鄉村流行男歌手 Kenny Rogers 於2020年3月20日安然地在喬治亞州的家裡辭世，享壽81歲 (1938 - 2020)。
Kenny Rogers從70年代就走紅美國歌壇把一生都奉獻給最心愛的音樂，走紅國際60載並於2013年獲選進入美國鄉村音樂名人堂，畢生締造了1億1千萬張唱片的銷售紀錄。出生於美國德州的傳統家庭排行老四(家裡有8個小孩)的 Kenny 從小就愛唱歌，十幾歲就出外謀生，從鄉村音樂開始歌唱事業。
縱橫歌壇五十幾年唱過多種不同曲風如 Country, Jazz, Rock, POP等，從1975年開始到退休，總發行唱片量全球突破1億1千萬張銷售量光榮地進入全美金曲暢銷音樂藝人排行榜內 (The Best-Selling Music Artists of All Time)，理所當然排行第一名是披頭四樂團(最暢銷的樂團)，貓王艾維斯·普里斯萊緊追在後。
1977年暢銷金曲 "Lucille" 是用來紀念 Kenny的母親 Lucille Lois (née Hester; 1910–1991)成功地突破5百萬張的傲人成績，此項紀錄鼓舞Kenny使其更有信心向樂壇邁進。
