1950年一月初生的 Billy Ocean，本名叫 Leslie Charles，出生在一座美麗的海島上，它的國名叫做 "Trinidad and Tobago" 一個在1889年被大英帝國殖名的中南美洲島嶼。

在他十歲的時候跟家人遠渡重洋落腳英國。從小就有音樂天分的 Billy Ocean 青少年時代早已展露頭角在當地的酒吧駐唱小有名氣，並且在1980s 年代的英國 R&B 樂壇闖出名號贏得各大獎項，之後成功地進軍國際市場。
